Happy Year of the Dragon!

Gung Hay Fat Choy!
Wishing you a healthy and prosperous new year!

The Year of the Dragon - the first day of the Chinese Astrology Year - begins today on January 23rd.  In China, the celebrations are known as the Spring Festival, a 15-day-long observance that includes feasts, family reunions, the conspicuous use of the colour red and culminates on the final day with a lantern festival.

The Dragon is a symbol of strength, power and good luck.  According to tradition the Dragon brings in the Four Blessings of the East: wealth, virtue, harmony and longevity.

The Year of the Dragon is a year full of energy, enthusiasm and for grand new schemes. New projects will be started, ambitious ideas put forward and will be a time when many changes take place or are suggested.

The Dragon is the most powerful sign of the Chinese zodiac so anticipate a year that is exciting, creative, and over the top. A Dragon's influence inspires passion, drive, and daring. The Dragon year is an excellent time to start a business, get married, have a child, or take incredible risks. But results can be drastic: undreamed of success or unrealistic fantasies that crash. Either way, life's pace is speedy, dynamic, and anything can happen. Should the Dragon year's maximum volume leave you overwhelmed, be sure to take time off to retreat and rest.
