"What on Earth Do I Eat for Breakfast?"

When I work with patients to optimize their health and wellness, I often recommend diet therapy as an effective tool to obtain results. I have seen amazing things happen for people whether they are dealing with gynecological, endocrine, or digestive imbalances. Diet is a powerful means to facilitate wellness. I think at our core, most of us understand this concept. However, changing one’s diet is really challenging! We don’t just eat for nutritional purposes- we eat for social reasons, we eat for fun, we eat for pleasure and for comfort. I am mindful of this fact when I make dietary suggestions because people are often shocked to hear the guidelines I give them. Although I make different recommendations for different people, it often includes removing foods they have likely been eating a lifetime. And it is HARD. I hear you, my friends. I know how hard it is, and I also know the amazing results that are possible. I am often recommending to people that they experiment with removing gluten, dairy, and sugar. I recommend the elimination diet, the paleo diet, the candida diet, the fertility diet, the thyroid diet- and these diets always involve making changes to the way one eats. And even after recovering from the initial shock of being told to remove all processed sugar, dairy, or gluten, almost everyone asks the same question: “What am I going to eat for breakfast???”

I have to admit, it’s a hard one. I struggle with this one myself but it’s no reason to forfeit the entire diet! Eating breakfast on these diets means getting creative, planning, and reimagining the way we think about breakfast. So here in this post I am going to link to some blogs that feature amazing gluten, dairy, and sugar-free breakfasts. They are also delicious (not flavor-free!).
